Jessica Camacho is currently a patient of Serrano & Kyger Family Orthodontics. How she became a patient is worth reading about.

Drs. Serrano & Kyger received an e-mail from the manager of the Tomorrow’s SMILES Program. This program is part of the National Children’s Oral Health Foundation (NCOHF) that rescues at-risk-youth and provides them with the much-needed restorative dental treatment free of charge. NCOHF works closely with Invisalign. Invisalign recommended Serrano & Kyger Family Orthodontics as a practice that may be willing to help with a case in Phoenix. If Jessica were an Invisalign candidate, Invisalign would take care of the fees.

Jessica came to our Phoenix office where Dr. Serrano did her initial exam & had her get records taken. From the exam & records, Dr. Serrano determined that Jessica was not an Invisalign candidate. Dr. Serrano decided that he would treat Jessica with traditional braces and he would take on this case pro bono. In other words, Dr. Serrano chose to PAY-IT-FORWARD, give back to the community, help a teen in need.

Jessica also committed to PAYING IT FORWARD. Part of being a Tomorrow’s SMILES client, Jessica is required to write an essay as well as giving 3 oral health lessons to younger children in local schools, churches, and after school programs.

Serrano & Kyger Family Orthodontics is honored to be part of a program that offers these special teens a chance for a beautiful, healthy smile and better self-esteem. Jessica is so excited that she will have a smile that she can be proud of. Sounds like a win-win!!

Here is the essay that Jessica wrote as part of her application process for the Tomorrow’s SMILES program:
